Oakbio

Oakbio is creating technologies to produce high value products from captured carbon. Oakbio’s proprietary biotechnology platform converts streams of waste carbon into marketable products. Conversion of carbon dioxide from flue gas and other carbon sources into food, feed, bioplastics and chemical products has been demonstrated with their system. For example carbon dioxide from raw cement flue gas and oil refinery waste gas has been successfully converted into n-butanol and PHA bioplastics. Oakbio uses proprietary microbes in a bioreactor, which is fed with raw flue gas and hydrogen. The system can operate continuously as the energy for conversion is derived from hydrogen.

Oakbio also does business under the Novonutrients brand, focusing on transforming industrial carbon dioxide into feed in the aquaculture sector.
