He held citizenships in both the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. Kravchuk was educated at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, with Dmitry Grave serving as his doctoral advisor. His occupation was that of a mathematician.
Kravchuk's contributions to the field of mathematics include his development of the Kravchuk polynomials and Krawtchouk matrices. Unfortunately, his life was cut short when he died on March 9, 1942, at the Kolyma River.
