Mickey Rooney (born September 23, 1920, died April 6, 2014) was an American novelist, writer, comedian, soldier, film director, radio personality, television producer, film producer, actor, screenwriter, and singer. He was born in Brooklyn and was a United States citizen. Rooney passed away in Studio City, Los Angeles.

He was educated at Hollywood High School, Hollywood Professional School, and Morningside High School. Mickey Rooney was the father of Tim Rooney, Jimmy Rooney, Mickey Rooney Jr., Michael Rooney, and Kyle Rooney. His own father was Joe Yule, and he was named after the Mickey McGuire film series.

Throughout his career, Rooney worked on numerous notable projects, including "Night at the Museum" and its sequels "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" and "Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb". Some of his other notable works include "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Pete's Dragon", "The Fox and the Hound", and "Babe: Pig in the City", among many others.
