Mel Smith

Mel Smith, born Melvin Kenneth Smith on December 3, 1952, was a multi-talented individual from the United Kingdom. Born in Chiswick, he was educated at Latymer Upper School and New College, Oxford. Throughout his career, Smith held various occupations, including actor, comedian, writer, screenwriter, film director, television director, television producer, and film producer. He is best known for his work in the genre of Shakespearean comedy.

Mel Smith was also the founder of Talkback, a production company. One of his directorial achievements includes the 1997 film "Bean". Smith passed away in London on July 19, 2013.
