MedARC

Medical AI Research Center, or MedARC, was established to develop foundation models for medicine and to provide a platform for interdisciplinary teams to address clinical needs. The company was founded by Tanishq Abraham with support from Stability AI and is headquartered in California.

The company uses an approach that includes sharing models and datasets, publishing results, and building a community for the contributors to the platform and related research. MedARC's platform uses foundational models for its artificial intelligence platform to help with the research. Unlike similar platforms, MedARC wants to do the science in the public and make all the research and datasets public for free. MedARC noted a similar approach that has been successful for research in natural language processing, multimodality, and biology, and therefore believes it can be applied to medical research.

Projects begun on MedARC's platform include a project into real-time reconstructions of visual perception from fMRI imaging and a project into fine-tuning stable diffusion for chest x-ray generation.
