Maxar Technologies is a company that looks to provide information solutions for businesses and governments around the world. The company was founded by John MacDonald, and Werner Dettwiler in 1969, in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada.
The company is split into two segments, their information products and information systems. Their products side looks to offer residential and commercial land and property-related information products that are used to buy, sell, convey, mortgage finance, and insure properties. The segment looks to provide geospatial information, and decision support products and services that are used by organizations that monitor activities, national security, resources, and transportation that takes place on Earth. The segment that deals with information systems is focused on providing ground and space-based solutions for governmental, military, civilian, and commercial customers.
In 2021, Maxar Technologies looks to launch a satellite constellation which is meant to deliver remote sensing, remote monitoring, mapping, analytics at scale, and 3D model skins of the Earth. The legion of satellites will offer monitoring of emergency responses, maritime surveillance, infrastructure, and other monitoring needs.
