Outstanding Belarusian tennis player, Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Belarus. One of the best doubles players in the history of world tennis. Long-time leader of the Belarusian team in the Davis Cup. Olympic champion in mixed doubles, 10-time winner of Grand Slam tournaments in doubles and mixed doubles, winner of 50 ATP tournaments (one in singles).

Maksim Mirny was born on July 6, 1977 in Minsk, USSR.

His father, N.N. Mirny, played in the elite division of the RSFSR Volleyball Championship in the 1960s. His mother, T.V. Mirny, was a former swimmer who set the BSSR record in the 200m butterfly in 1971. Maxim has two brothers, Peter and Timothy.

Maksim Mirny started tennis at the age of 6. The sport for the child was chosen by his father, Nikolai Mirny, who became his coach and accompanied his son to tournaments. Maksim mastered basics of tennis in the Children and Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve under guidance of Lavrenov V.S. and Eidelman A.L., and from 14 years in Nick Bolletieri Academy (Florida, USA) where he perfected his skills.

Multiple Grand Slam winners (doubles and mixed doubles),

ATP doubles tournaments. Mirny won his victories with 15 different partners. Half of his victories Mirny won with the Swede Jonas Bjorkman and the Indian Mahesh Bhupathi, currently plays in doubles with Tret Hui.

Maksim Mirny won 4 doubles matches at the Kremlin Cup, all 4 times with different partners. He repeatedly became the first racket of the world in doubles.

Among dozens of victories of Maxim Mirny some tournaments and championships stand out. These are the French Open (Roland Garros) where Maksim won in 2005, 2006, 2011 and 2012 and Davis Cup where the Belarusian team defeated strongest teams such as Russia and Argentina. The most serious rivals for the Belarussian almost throughout his career were the Bryan brothers: only in the finals of various tournaments Mirny (with different partners) played against them 15 times - 7 wins and 8 losses. Maksim Mirny played 85 matches in 46 Davis Cup tournaments.

Despite the fact that Maksim Mirny, being in good physical shape, continues his sports career and actively performs on the court, he tries to spend most of his free time in Minsk with his family, his wife Xenia and four children Melania, Petra, Demid and Trofim.
