MARIA BELLO

American film actress.

Her full name is Maria Elaina Bello.

She was born April 18, 1967 in Norristown, Pennsylvania USA.

Father Joe Bello - Italian, worked as a contractor, mother Kathy Bello - Polish, worked as a nurse. Maria has two siblings, Chris and Joey, and a younger sister, Lisa.

After graduating from Catholic High School, Maria went on to attend Villanova University, majoring in political science. Bello had serious intentions of becoming a lawyer. In her final year, Maria enrolled in an acting class just for fun and found that she really enjoyed acting. Soon Bello was already acting in small off-Broadway productions.

In 1994, Bello was invited to play the role of Mrs. Smith in the remake of the popular spy series Mr. and Mrs. Smith. But the show was canceled after eight weeks on the air. Then Maria was invited to play an episode in the TV series "ER", and she was so liked by the producers that Bello was invited to the permanent role of Dr. Anna Delamico.

Her first notable film role was in "Payback" (1999). In 2000, Maria starred in the movie The Coyote Ugly Bar.

Maria Bello has twice been nominated for a Golden Globe Award: in 2003 for her supporting performance in "Brake" and in 2005 for Best Actress for her film "Justified Cruelty".

On March 5, 2001, Maria and her life partner, screenwriter Dan McDermott, had a son, Jackson Blue McDermott.
