Manuel Blum

Manuel Blum (born April 26, 1938) is a computer scientist from Caracas. He holds citizenship in the United States and is currently located in the United States. Blum was educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is primarily known for his work in the field of computer science.

Blum had Marvin Minsky as his doctoral advisor and mentored numerous doctoral students throughout his career, including Silvio Micali, Luis von Ahn, Leonard Adleman, Moni Naor, and several others.

In recognition of his contributions to the field of computer science, Manuel Blum received the Turing Award in 1995. He is related to Avrim Blum, who is also involved in computer science as a researcher.
