Manganese

Manganese (chemical symbol - Mn, from Lat. Manganum) is a chemical element of the 17th group (according to the outdated classification - the seventh group of the secondary subgroup, VIIB), the fourth period of the periodic system of chemical elements of D. I. Mendeleev, with atomic number 25.[4].

A simple substance, manganese is a solid, but at the same time, brittle transition metal of silver-white color. Refers to non-ferrous metals.
