Lewis Mumford

Lewis Mumford (born October 19, 1895, in New York City) was an ambitious and knowledgeable figure with a diverse range of occupations that included journalist, architect, historian, screenwriter, philosopher, urban planner, and writer. He held American citizenship and passed away on January 26, 1990, in Dutchess County, New York.

Mumford was educated at several prestigious institutions, such as City College of New York, Columbia University, Stuyvesant High School, The New School, and New York University. He had a strong literary presence, with his most notable works being "The City in History", "Technics and Civilization", and "The Myth of the Machine".
