Typically, anti-EM warfare protection is done by enclosing all electronics in metal electrical boxes. However, this strategy is limited in several ways: Firstly, many electronics boards must fit into tight spaces, where the typical machined-metal boxes either can’t fit or cost significant amounts of money to be manufactured; secondly, many electrical boards can overheat when enclosed in a box, limiting heat dissipation; and, thirdly, metal boxes tend to add critical weight to the drone, where every pound is important. This project will explore a method to inexpensively fabricate, using a high-speed high-performance 3D-printing system, anti-EM warfare electrical boxes, which mitigate each of the above challenges.
