IERUS Technologies is pursuing development of updated antenna designs to support future modifications to the existing missile systems. These antennas are being designed for operation within the X- and S-bands, maintaining current interoperability. The updated antenna design(s) are expected to mount on the aft plate of the missile system. The antennas will meet the current RF requirements, will be required to survive thermal loading generated during operation, and must be constructed of materials that will not be degraded by the exhaust during flight. For the updated antenna designs, IERUS will leverage our existing vehicle antenna technology. As these approaches begin with designs developed for extreme environmental conditions, the resulting antennas will be capable of surviving the heat, dynamic loading, and exhaust experienced during flight. IERUS will design these antennas using our rigorous on-body analysis methods, ensuring that mission requirements are met in the field. We will also investigate ways to increase re-use of the specific designs on additional platforms, which will drive down the development cost for all future platforms using this antenna. The IERUS antenna design process will include full-scale vehicle modeling to assess on-body gain coverage, thus addressing relevant requirements as they become available.
