Hugo von Hofmannsthal

Hugo von Hofmannsthal was an Austrian writer born in Vienna on February 1, 1874. He held citizenship in Austria and Austria-Hungary. Throughout his life, von Hofmannsthal had numerous occupations, including a novelist, poet, playwright, writer, screenwriter, and composer. He was educated at the University of Vienna and Akademisches Gymnasium in Vienna.

During his career, von Hofmannsthal wrote under the pseudonyms Loris and Theophil Morren. He is best known for his notable work "Der Rosenkavalier". Von Hofmannsthal passed away on July 15, 1929, in Liesing.
