Harbor.ai is an insurance technology (insureTech) based in New York and was founded by Marc Hadfield and Paul Gaglioti. The company uses artificial intelligence (AI) to power an automated insurance exchange platform that runs various scenarios to solve complicated risks and provides clients and brokers with insurance rates.
Harbor.ai offers its insurTech product as one inclusive software with three main components for function. It includes the proprietary software, exchange, and the portal.
Harbor.ai developed a proprietary AI that leverages machine learning to combine the agent, broker, wholesale, and carrier silos of the insurance industry. The AI can also calibrate risk analysis and provide insight into different plans that address the buyer's needs; adjacent to this, it matches buyers with sellers offering plans with competitive premiums claimed to be of mutual benefit for buyer and seller.
The exchange is where buyers and sellers can view offerings. It is structured similarly to a marketplace where sellers can view plans and their premium rates and match their insurance needs and wants to the seller's offerings.
The portal is responsible for combining all of the Harbor.ai product features with an AI assistant, collaboration tools for teams, generation of compliance documents, automation of cross-selling policies, access via mobile or desktop applications, and the ability to manage incoming leads and opportunities.
