George C. Scott (born George Campbell Scott on 18 October 1927 in Wise, Virginia) was an acclaimed American actor, director, and producer. He gained citizenship in the United States and pursued education at both Redford High School and the University of Missouri.

Scott was known for his notable works, such as Dr. Strangelove, The Hospital, and Patton in which he played the titular role. Among his other films and TV series are Anatomy of a Murder, A Christmas Carol, and The Hustler, along with numerous additional titles. He also ventured into directing and producing, with The Savage Is Loose as one example.

Throughout his career, George C. Scott received a substantial number of accolades and awards, including Academy Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, Kansas City Film Critics Circle Awards, and Golden Globes, among others.

He was the father of two children, Campbell Scott and Devon Scott. On 22 September 1999, Scott passed away in Westlake Village, California.
