Overview

Fnality International is a London-based blockchain technology company focused on creating a network of decentralized financial market infrastructures (dFMIs) for on-chain payments. The company was founded in 2019 and is led by CEO Rhomaios Ram. Fnality aims to offer peer-to-peer digital cash assets to settle tokenized transactions and deliver the means of payment on-chain for wholesale exchange of value in central bank money.

Fnality began as a research project and initiative known as the Utility Settlement Coin (USC) Project, focused on distributed ledger technology. The project evolved into a consortium of banks and other financial institutions aiming to develop a blockchain blockchain-based payment system. This consortium of shareholders includes Banco Santander, BNY Mellon, Barclays, CIBC, Commerzbank, Credit Suisse, Euroclear, ING, KBC Group, Lloyds Banking Group, Mizuho Financial Group, MUFG Bank, Nasdaq, Nomura, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, State Street Corporation, and UBS.
