Charles II of Naples was born in 1254 in Italy. He was a son of Beatrice of Provence. Charles II was the founder of San Domenico Maggiore. He had several children, including Robert, King of Naples; John, Duke of Durazzo; Charles Martel of Anjou; Margaret of Anjou; Louis of Toulouse; Philip I, Prince of Taranto; Blanche of Anjou; Raymond Berengar (Grand Master of the Knights Hospitaller); Maria of Naples; Eleanor of Anjou; and Margaret, Countess of Anjou.
He died on May 5, 1309 in Naples.
