AirGap

AirGap is a secure self-custody solution for multiple assets like Polkadot, Kusama, and soon Moonbeam. With AirGap’s two-device approach, a complete ideology of keeping your crypto completely offline can be followed. Alternatively, both apps AirGap Wallet and AirGap Vault, can be installed on the same device but still profit from added security.

AirGap has a two-device approach: AirGap Vault and AirGap Wallet. The former can be installed on a dedicated smartphone completely offline with an air-gapped network and will be the one that holds the private key. The latter is a companion application to AirGap Vault installed on users’ everyday phones. AirGap’s offline approach provides a safer way to sign transactions. Additionally, its interface offers a user-friendly experience by providing one-way secure communication with QR codes (no cable needed to make the connection between online and offline devices) and secure key handling with a fast social recovery option.

The teams will work jointly to add Moonbeam and Moonriver tokens as supported currencies on AirGap, a crypto wallet that allows users to store their crypto funds securely on a mobile phone. This integration allows AirGap to serve a variety of assets and new users in the growing and robust Moonbeam ecosystem.

The AirGap team announced wallet support for KSM and DOT in 2020 and continues to expand its support of the Polkadot ecosystem. Moonbeam is a key integration since it features the most project integrations, including DeFi, NFT platforms, and DApps. When AirGap supports Moonbeam (Glimmer) and Moonriver (River) tokens, users will not only be able to hold Glimmer and River in a secure way but will also be able to stake tokens directly and earn rewards.
