Moulinex is a Groupe SEB brand along with Rowenta, Calor, All-Clad, Lagostina, Krups, and Tefal, all household products brands. The company designed and produced the Mouli grater. The company was founded by Jean Mantelet who in 1932 invented the Moulin-Légumes, a hand-crank food mill for puréeing vegetables. The design is considered an early forerunner to the modern food processor.

Mantelet's business plan was to "choose an industrial sector with a future, use mass production, keep prices low, manufacture in regions where salaries are low, reduce costs, reduce dependencies on suppliers, and focus on research and publicity". Between 1929 and 1953 Mantelet applied for 93 patents

Koninklijke Philips N.V. is a Dutch multinational conglomerate corporation that was founded in Eindhoven in 1891. Since 1997, it has been mostly headquartered in Amsterdam, though the Benelux headquarters is still in Eindhoven. Philips was formerly one of the largest electronics companies in the world, but is currently focused on the area of health technology, having divested from other divisions.

The company was founded in 1891 by Gerard Philips and his father Frederik, with their first products being light bulbs. It currently employs around 80,000 people across 100 countries. The company gained its royal honorary title in 1998 and dropped the "Electronics" in its name in 2013, due to its refocusing from consumer electronics to healthcare technology.

Smeg is an Italian home appliance manufacturer.

History

Founded in 1948 by Vittorio Bertazzoni as an enameling and metalworking company, the Smeg company preserves the memory of the activity initially carried out in the acronym Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla.

Over time, the brand has consolidated its reputation as a symbol for appliances renowned for their design aesthetic and use of technology.

From the 1950s, the company’s metalworking background was accompanied by the production of its first cooking appliances. In 1956, the company presented “Elisabeth”, one of the first gas cookers equipped with automatic ignition, safety valve in the oven and cooking programmer.

In the sixties, Smeg introduced its first ever washing machine, the ‘Leda’, and then developed this specialism further, when in 1970 Smeg introduced a world premiere: the 60 cm Niagara dishwasher, known for its unprecedented load capacity of 14 place settings.

In 1971, the company began the production of built-in hobs and ovens, products by which the company has built its history.

Business

The design and manufacture of Smeg appliances is concentrated in four factories based in Northern Italy, each specialising in a specific type of appliance. Smeg has subsidiaries worldwide, overseas offices and an extensive sales network. Smeg has developed a product collection in collaboration with architects and designers, including Guido Canali (who also designed the company headquarters in Guastalla), Mario Bellini, Renzo Piano, Marc Newson and deepdesign.

Other activities

Having started in the residential sector, Smeg later entered the commercial market. Smeg Food Service manufactures appliances for the hotel, restaurant and catering market and Smeg Instruments supplies disinfection equipment to hospitals and dental surgeries.

Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft AG was a German producer of electrical equipment founded in Berlin as the Deutsche Edison-Gesellschaft für angewandte Elektricität in 1883 by Emil Rathenau. During the Second World War, AEG worked with the Nazi Party and benefited from forced labour from concentration camps. After World War II, its headquarters moved to Frankfurt am Main.

In 1967, AEG joined with its subsidiary Telefunken AG, creating Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft AEG-Telefunken. In 1985, Daimler-Benz purchased the AEG-Telefunken Aktiengesellschaft (which was renamed to AEG Aktiengesellschaft) and wholly integrated the company in 1996 into Daimler-Benz AG (1998: DaimlerChrysler). The remains of AEG became part of Adtranz (later Bombardier Transportation) and Deutsche Aerospace (1998: DASA, today part of Airbus SE).

After acquiring the AEG household subsidiary AEG Hausgeräte GmbH in 1994, Electrolux obtained the rights to the AEG brand name in 2005, which it now uses on some of its products. The AEG name is also licensed to various brand partners under the Electrolux Global Brand Licensing program.

Amica is a Poland-based international company. It is a global manufacturer of household appliances headquartered in Wronki, in the western-central Poland. The company produces refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens, electric stoves, kettles for the kitchen under the brands Hansa, CDA, Gram.

History

Amica was founded in 1945 under the names Predom-Wromet Heating Equipment Factory and Wromet Kitchen Products Factory.

In the 1980s, products were exported to the GDR. In 1992, the company was privatized and renamed Amica. In the same year, Amica football club of the same name was created. In 1997 it was listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

In 2001, Amica acquired the Danish rival Gram Domestic, and the following year the German Premiere Hausgeräteetechnik GmbH.

The main sales market for Amica is in Poland, Germany, Great Britain and Scandinavia. The Amica Group brand portfolio also includes foreign brands: Gram, Hansa and CDA. Gram is a Danish brand that has existed since 1901, acquired by Amica in 2001 and known in Scandinavia. Hansa is a brand that can be found in the markets of Eastern Europe. CDA is a UK brand acquired in 2015 and recognized in distribution channels such as kitchen furniture studios.In 2017, Amica bought a 60.71% stake in Sideme SA Societe Industrielle d'Equipement Moderne, one of the distributors of home appliances in France. After purchasing 39.29% of the shares in August 2015, Amica already owns 100% of Sideme. The total purchase price of all shares of the French company was 5.4 million Euros, which were financed from own funds.

In 2010, Samsung Electronics bought two Amica factories in the Polish cities Poznan and Wronki for the production of refrigerators and washing machines

Groupe SEB is a large French consortium that produces small appliances, and it is the world's largest manufacturer of cookware. Notable brand names associated with Groupe SEB include All-Clad, IMUSA , Krups, Moulinex, Rowenta, Tefal (including OBH Nordica) and WMF Group. According to the Groupe SEB website, they have faced considerable competition from low-price Chinese competitors, but have managed to maintain a constant sales level. A large proportion of their product lines are now manufactured in China. Its headquarters are in Ecully, a Lyon suburb.

The precursor to the Groupe SEB consortium was originally formed by Antoine Lescure in 1857. In 1977, they released the dedicated first-generation home video game console Telescore 750. Later, they released two revisions, the Telescore 751 and the Telescore 752.

Recent performance

For the first half of 2008, Groupe SEB reported an increase in profit from 52 million euros in 2007 to 94 million euros. Groupe SEB now has a 61% interest in the Chinese cookware company Supor. For the second half of the year, Groupe SEB did not predict major changes in outlook.

In 2004, Groupe SEB acquired the high-end American cookware company All-Clad. Weakness in the European markets is expected to be balanced out by further growth in North America and Asia.

OBH Nordica is a Nordic company, with parent company in Sweden and subsidiaries in Denmark, Finland and Norway, which produce a broad variety of products, including within the categories of personal care, clocks/weather stations, cooking utilities, and draft beer dispensers.Some products sold as OBH Nordica are rebranded versions of products from parent company Tefal.

The company was created in a 2002 fusion between the Danish Ole Bødtcher-Hansen A/S (OBH) and the Swedish Joffe Marketing AB.

Bertil Joffe AB was founded by Bertil Joffe in 1959 in Sweden.
