Pan was a founding engineer at PayPal in 1999. He stayed with the company for more than five years until he became the chief technology officer (CTO) at Adzaar. In 2005, Pan transitioned to working at YouTubeYouTube as a senior software engineer where he developed embedded video player, which is used on the site. After close to five years at YouTube, he left the company to found his own start-up along with Yael Pasternak Valek and Sandra Oh Lin. The company is called KiwiCo, Incorporated and is a subscription service for activities for kids.
