XanEdu, an educational products and services company working with the higher education and K-12 markets, in partnership with Open RN, creator of OER (Open Educational Resource) nursing textbooks, is pleased to announce the launch of Nursing Skills, the second textbook in the 5 book series of OER nursing education titles.

Just Launched - Open RN's Free OER Nursing Skills Textbook - part of a 5 book series lowering cost of nursing materials.

XanEdu is the preferred print partner for Open RN and will offer the full suite of titles in low-cost print versions as they are published.

The projected impact of the Open RN project for WTCS students is $1.5 million annually in textbooks savings.

Mavs Open Press will continue to provide resources to the UTA community for publishing new and existing open access content, and will leverage XanEdu's expertise for all print and distribution needs," said Barbara Robinson, XanEdu Vice President of OER Solutions.

Mavs Open Press offers no-cost services for UTA faculty, staff, and students who wish to openly publish their scholarship.

The Libraries' program provides human and technological resources that empower our communities to publish new, open access journals, to convert traditional print journals to open access publications, and to create or adapt open educational resources (OER).

Resources published by Mavs Open Press are openly licensed using Creative Commons licenses and are offered in various eBook formats free of charge.
