Wuxi Institute of Technology (WXIT), founded in March 1959, is an independent and staffed state higher professional institute authorized by the Ministry of Education and under the authority of the Jiangsu Department of Education.
WXIT is one of the first group of twenty-eight National Colleges of Higher Professional Models.
In 2012, WXIT was approved to offer four four-year educational programs, working with Jiangsu University to teach high-quality professional and technical talents at the bachelor's level. WXIT with two small towns of Zhongqiao campus and Taihu campus is located near the beautiful Taihu Lake and covers an area of 664 200 square meters. It currently has about 12,000 full-time students studying on campus and has over 780 faculty.
WXIT has created 13 academic schools and sections, offering about 40 programs ranging from mechanical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, applied computer technology, to business management, tourism, logistics and more.
