Vortex shedding is a phenomenon in fluid dynamics that occurs when a fluid such as air or water flows past a bluff body at a specific range of velocities. Vortex shedding creates oscillating flow conditions, which need to be considered when designing and developing various structures (e.g., buildings, bridges, chimneys and microfluidics).
