The Vancouver Canucks are a professional ice hockey club based in Vancouver. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as part of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference and play their home games at Rogers Arena. Bruce Boudreau is the head coach, Jim Rutherford is the president of hockey operations, and Patrick Alvin is the general manager.
The first NHL team jerseys, which were worn from the first 1970/71 season (modified for the 1972/73 season) to the end of the 1977/78 season, depicted a hockey stick in the shape of a shallow letter "V" superimposed on a blue rectangle in the shape of a skating rink forming the letter "C", designed by North Vancouver artist Joe Borovich.
The mascot of the Vancouver Canucks is an anthropomorphic killer whale (orca) named Fin Orca.
