The United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational foundation dedicated to advancing the field of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) and developing a stronger GEOINT community with government, industry, academia, professional organizations, and individuals. USGIF strives to achieve its mission through various programs, events, by building the GEOINT community, advancing the tradecraft, and accelerating innovation. USGIF was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Herndon, Virginia.
Memberships to USGIF are available to both individuals and organizations. Organizational memberships include Small Business Partners, Academic Partners, Sustaining Partners, Associate Partners, and Strategic Partners. USGIF provides members with access to working groups to facilitate networking, including the Commercial GEOINT Working Group, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence Working Group, Modeling, Simulation & Gaming Working Group, NGA Advisory Working Group, NRO Industry Advisory Working Group, Small Business Advisory Working Group, St. Louis Area Working Group, Tradecraft and Professional Development Working Group, and Young Professionals Working Group.
USGIF provides its members with in-person and digital forums for networking, teaching, and learning, and produces a number of events throughout the year that reach thousands of constituents, including its annual GEOINT Symposium. USGIF supports GEOINT education through its academic programs, including K-12 geospatial literacy and awareness activities, high school level GEOINT credentials, collegiate certificates, degrees, and the CGP-Essentials, an entry-level certification to bridge the gap between education and professional development. USGIF offers accreditation to collegiate Geospatial Intelligence Certificate and Degree Programs, which awards colleges and universities the ability to offer students GEOINT certificates accompanying an undergraduate or graduate degree. The USGIF Scholarship Program recognizes the achievements of graduating high school seniors, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.
