Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including monitoring a communication network managed by a service provider to detect transmission of content to a communication device through the communication network, analyzing content information associated with the content that is transmitted to the communication device to identify a feature of the content, capturing a user-generated comment that is transmitted from the communication device through the communication network, analyzing the user-generated comment that is captured to detect an occurrence of a keyword that is associated with the feature of the content, determining whether the keyword in the user-generated comment was temporally associated with the feature of the content transmitted to the communication device to identify an occurrence of a trigger event associating the keyword with the feature of the content, and responsive to identification of the occurrence of the trigger event, transmitting a message associated with the trigger event to the communication device.
