TriNorth Capital was a Canadian-based investment company. The company managed a diversified investment portfolio to generate long term capital growth for shareholders. They preferred early stage investment and provided strategic and financial counsel, support and direction to help portfolio companies grow.
In 2007, TriNorth Capital lost 90% of its capital in less than a year, and shareholders called for a change in management, with current shareholders unsatisfied with the performance of then portfolio investment manager Lawrence Asset Management.
In 2010, the Board of Directors of TriNorth Capital issued a notice of termination to Navina Asset Management, who had taken over as investment portfolio management.
In 2012, TriNorth Capital entered into a letter of intent with Difference Capital Inc., who purchased the majority share of TriNorth Capital at $4.52 million and aided TriNorth Capital raising $20 million in follow up funding. TriNorth Capital became Difference Capital Funding Inc. per the agreement.
