The Herbivorous Butcher was founded in 2013 by two siblings, Aubry and Kale Walch. The company is making plant-based 100% vegan meet-free meat and cheese-free cheese alternatives, and is America's first "vegan butcher". In January, 2016, The Herbivorous Butcher opened it's first brick and mortar store in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after successfully raising the necessary capital ($61,806) from their Kickstarter campaign.
Herbivorous Acres is a non-profit organization founded by The Herbivorous Butcher. Herbivorous Acres is a farm sanctuary that protects and rescues animals from cruelty, abuse and neglect.
The Herbivorous Butcher ran their own Kickstarter campaign from November 2, 2014 - November 30, 2014 (28 days) with the goal of raising $50,000 to open their own brick and mortar production and retail shop. Their Kickstarter campaign raised $61,806 in funding from 715 backers.
