In the children's room, special attention is paid to toys. Basically, these are homemade dolls, horses, tops. One of the most valuable toys is a horse, which was ridden by the son of the last owner of the estate Nikolai Galsky - a little Lion. It was restored almost completely. Russian Russian provincial nobility, with its cozy, well-established way of life, framed by elegant and harmonious forms of Russian classicism, finds itself in the atmosphere of life of the Galskys' estate.

The grand hall of the blue drawing room of the manor house is crowned with a bronze chandelier, French curtains made of natural fabrics elegantly fit into the classic interior, Viennese chairs, as well as chairs made of Karelian birch, a table with a lyre-shaped base*, an antique mirror, a table for playing cards, a mahogany wardrobe stand in straight rows in the living room. For many years, furniture and other household items of the noble nest were searched for by museum staff all over the country. In total, there are thirty-seven rooms in the mansion, and today each one has recreated the interior characteristic of the XIX century. The house was decorated with 94 photos of the owners of the estate and their relatives. One of the rooms is dedicated to the brothers Nikolai and Vladimir Yanish. Vladimir Yanish was among the first Russian aviators of the early twentieth century.

From the entrance paneled doors, a grand staircase with chiseled balusters leads deep into the house. Inside the house, the enfilade arrangement of rooms, inherited from the device of housing of the XVIII century, old stairs, high paneled doors, tiled stoves, has been preserved. All rooms on the ground floor have access to a longitudinal corridor, in the eastern part of which there is a black utility passage and a one-step staircase leading to the front rooms of the second floor. The rooms on the second floor are arranged around the main hall, the windows of which overlook the courtyard and the circular garden.

The rear facade with projections of side risalites * and a huge semicircular attic window has a more intimate appearance. Between the risalites, at the level of the second floor, there is an open balustrade *, supported by a series of massive columns with Doric * capitals*. Pairs of the same columns support the roofs over the porches of the entrances to the house and small balconies arranged on the side facades. The multi-pitched, complex roof of the house is crowned by a belvedere surrounded by a balustrade with elegant balusters*. From above there is a wonderful view of the river and the city, and you can take a look at the whole estate.

The estate complex is a traditional composition with a clear distinction between economic and residential zones. From the south, the ensemble is closed by a stable yard, from the north - a manor house looking at the river. A circular garden with greenhouses and a greenhouse was laid out between them. On the sides there were human huts, a barn, a foal house, a manager's house and other buildings. According to the experts of the State Historical Museum, the uniqueness of this estate lies not only in its architecture. Here, in addition to the house, almost the entire complex of service manor buildings has survived – a rare case of preservation of wooden manor architecture. Majestic, two-storey, with a belvedere * manor house, built presumably in the first third of the XIX century, is a rare example of wooden manor buildings and deservedly recognized as an architectural monument of high artistic level Purity and harmony of proportions, balance of volumes, well-drawn details - all evidence of the high professional skill of its creator. The clear, precise, strictly centered composition of the house is characteristic of classical architecture of the late XVIII - early XIX centuries. It is built of larch, the dense solid wood of which is resistant to dampness and almost not susceptible to pests. The main facade of the building faces the river. Its central part is effectively highlighted by a crowned triangular pediment * a powerful six-columned portico * resting on the arcade*. The lines of the roof slopes are repeated in the forms of a triangular window with a small square glazing located in the tympanum* of the pediment.

The courtyard facade faces south, towards the farmyard, vegetable gardens and outbuildings.

In 2009, a new object appeared on the cultural and tourist map of the Vologda region – the Cherepovets museum "Galsky Manor" celebrated its second birth. After a long and arduous restoration, the manor house was opened to visitors. Today it is a bright sky-blue structure that fits perfectly into the coastal landscape of Sheksna and attracts the attention of passengers passing by motor ships. The house is as majestic as it was in the XIX century. Such as it was seen by the owners - representatives of the Galsky noble family. In the Boundary Book of Cherepovets for 1814, the hill on which the house will be rebuilt in the near future is called the "Hill wasteland". Later, the Cherepovets Curly nobles become its owners, who begin the construction of the estate. In 1856, probably as a dowry, the Hill (the estate retained the name of the wasteland) passed to the Galsky family. The Curly-haired and Gallic nobles have been known in the Novgorod province since the XVII century, served the Fatherland, and were repeatedly elected leaders of the local nobility; researchers claim that they were related to the famous Russian surnames Vereshchagin, Tolstoy, Turgenev. The year 1917 dramatically changed the lives of the inhabitants of the estate. Shortly after the revolution, Nikolai Lvovich Galskoy (the last owner of the house) died. His wife and daughters had to leave. A lot of trials fell on the family: arrests, exile, emigration. Now Tatiana Zhelvakova, the granddaughter of Nikolai Lvovich, lives in St. Petersburg. Another branch of the Galskis ended up in the USA. The Galsky brothers, Konstantin and Alexander, live there. The descendants of the noble family visited their small homeland for the first time only in the 90s of the XX century, then as honorary guests. The fate of the estate itself is no less dramatic. Gorka was nationalized by the Soviets. Since 1922, the building has been on the balance of GUBONO. It housed an agricultural college, and later a dormitory. In 1931, the house was transferred to the Voroninsky Technical School of Dairy Farming, then to the Komsomolets state farm. In 1952, the manor house underwent major repairs, as a result of which the architectural appearance of the building suffered. In 1960, the main house of the Galsky estate received the protected status of a monument of national significance, but for almost two decades serious work on its restoration was not carried out. The Slide fell into the museum's hands in a terrible state. At that time, 19 families lived in the emergency house. They were settled, and a historical and ethnographic museum was opened in the estate in 1989. A few years later, restoration began. The work was carried out intermittently, funding in the early years was unstable. All major restoration processes began to take place in 2001. Budgets of all levels allocated money for the restoration of the monument of federal significance. The organization started work, which later worked on the restoration of the Vologda Kremlin, the Kirill-Belozersky Monastery, the Ferapontov Monastery, the Assumption Cathedral in Zagorsk. The Galsky manor house was restored for a long time and painstakingly. For example, the old paint from the facade of the building was subjected to laboratory tests. Moscow restorers selected the tone so that the renovated house acquired its original appearance. It is possible to say with a high degree of confidence that now the house looks like it was conceived by the architect at the beginning of the XIX century. Alas, his name remains one of the mysteries of the estate "Gorka". We can definitely say that he was a very talented person. The author's ingenious finds - columns, porticos, walls, stairs - "work" either to expand or to narrow the space, visually raise the ceiling. The shape and number of windows makes the house unusually bright. And this is not the only work of an unknown architect. The house in the Spasskoye-Kurkino estate, near Vologda, looks like the manor house "Gorki". Experts see this as not just a coincidence. This is clearly the hand of one master. There is another inextricable link between the two estates – "family ties": Nadezhda Fyodorovna Ryazanova - the wife of Andrei Ivanovich Kudryavy, came from the Kurkino estate. The furniture was collected bit by bit. The museum staff notes that since the beginning of the restoration, completely unique things that once belonged to the Galskys have literally "floated" to them. The first "wealth" was the old photographs handed over to the museum by the descendants of the noble family. Then there was a bronze clock, a lyre table, a wedding box. Genuine things from the estate were brought by Cherepovets, someone gave, someone sold. A few years ago, a Bible was bought from a dealer in rarities, on the crust of which it is written "From Nikolai Galsky to the peasant Fedotov." The book of St. John Chrysostom of the XVIII century also returned to the house. On its cover, the pedigree of the family is written in the hand of one of the Gali. And in 2008, a psycho mirror was brought to the museum. Before that, it was not possible to find him. Scientists had heard a lot about him and already had little faith in the success of the search. According to legend, it belonged to the Galskys. The mirror was brought to the daughter of a Cherepovets man, who bequeathed after his death to transfer the rarity to the museum. The granddaughter of Nikolai Galsky, Tatiana Zhelvakova, who came to the opening of the house of her ancestors, presented a cup and saucer from which her grandfather tasted tea. So the exposition was going drop by drop, which today can be seen in the walls of the restored manor house. Having received a rebirth, the museum today is a unique monument. In addition to the house, a system of outbuildings and outbuildings has been preserved: the manager's house, two people's huts, a stable, a foal house, two barns, a saddler's workshop. One of the buildings is a two-story barn with a two-tiered gallery on chopped figured pillars – a rare example of the type of outbuildings once common in the North-West of Russia. The monument of federal significance "Galsky Manor" is a unique case of preserving not just a landowner's house in the urban environment, but the entire system of outbuildings. There were similar estates in our region, but most of them now rest at the bottom of the Rybinsk reservoir. Therefore, the "Hill" is a chance to convey to future generations knowledge about the life and life of noble families. Shrouded in legends and myths, the masterpiece of Russian wooden architecture, which has preserved the spirit of the century before last, will take its rightful place among historical monuments. The Galsky House is a monument of Russian manor architecture of the XIX century

The estate "Gorka" of the hereditary Cherepovets nobles of Galsky in the past was one of the richest manors of the city and county. It is located on the high left bank of the Sheksna, almost opposite the Cathedral Hill.

The estate complex is a traditional composition with a clear distinction between economic and residential zones.
