Sergio Oliva was a Cuban-American bodybuilder born on July 4, 1941 in Havana, Cuba. He held citizenship in both Cuba and the United States. Known by his nickname "The Myth" , he became a three-time Mr. Olympia winner. Oliva passed away on November 12, 2012 in Chicago.
During his career, Sergio Oliva received numerous awards and recognitions. Some of these include winning the 1963 Mr. Chicago, securing the 4th position in the 1965 Mr. America (AAU) competition and receiving the "Most Muscular" trophy, and becoming the 1964 Mr. Illinois . Oliva also achieved the 2nd place with the "Most Muscular" trophy in the 1965 Junior Mr. America (AAU) competition, claimed the 1st place in the 1966 Mr. Universe (IFBB) competition, and ranked 4th in the 1966 Mr. Olympia (IFBB). In 1967, he won the Universe (IFBB) overall title and came in 2nd in the "Tall" category of the 1970 Mr. World (AAU) event. Finally, Oliva came in 2nd place in the 1970 Mr. Olympia (IFBB) competition.
