ScyllaDB is a software company offering a NoSQL database compatible with Apache Cassandra that is headquartered in Palo Alto, California and was founded in 2012 by Avi Kivity and Dor Laor. The companies NoSQL software has low and consistent latency, always-on availability, and high throughput (up to 1,000,000 read write operations per node).
On November 1, 2015 ScyllaDB completed a second venture capital funding round with $2 million in funding from Qualcomm Ventures and Magma Venture Partners.
On March 8, 2017 ScyllaDB completed their series B funding round with $16 million in funding led by Western Digital, Samsung, Magma Ventures, and Qualcomm Ventures. The company plans on using this funding to increase its sales and marketing efforts.
On April 25, 2018 ScyllaDB completed their series C funding round with $10 million in funding from TLV Partners (lead investor), Bessemer Venture Partners, Qualcomm Ventures, Magma Venture Partners, and Western Digital. On September 11, 2019 ScyllaDB expanded their series C funding round with $25 in funding from Eight Roads Ventures (lead investor), Bessemer Venture Partners, Magma Venture Partners, Qualcomm Ventures and TLV Partners.
