SciFi Ventures is a venture capital firm in San Francisco that focuses on investing in early stage companies. Founded 2011 in San Francisco, California, United States by Max Levchin, it invests in early stage ventures. SciFi began as the investment arm of Max Levchin’s startup studio, HVF. Its portfolio companies include Q Bio, Teller, Virta, Red Planet Labs, Human API, Anchorage, Spring Discovery, Divvy, Socotra, and SmithRx. As of March 2020, SciFi VC has made 24 investments. Their most recent investment was on February 20, 2020, when Q Bio raised $40M. Q Bio provides the first clinically relevant whole body analytics platform. In 60 minutes they analyze medical history, genetics, biochemistry, vitals, and perform a whole body MRI. The platform identifies changes over time associated with the earliest stages of disease before symptoms arise.
