Shield is a privacy cryptocurrency made to be resistant against attacks from quantum computers.

Shield is a privacy cryptocurrency made to be resistant against attacks from quantum computers officially launched on October 3, 2017.

Shield uses a Proof-of-Work (PoW) consensus mechanism in combination with masternodes to ensure blockchain integrity, security, and user anonymity. The Shield protocol uses multiple blockchain protocols such Scrypt, X17, Groestl, blake2s, and lyra2rev2 to protect the Shield network against 51% attacks and resistant against attacks from quantum computers. The Shield protocol is made to replace the need for ECDS with Lamport, Winternits, and BLISS signatures.
