Royal australian air force officer
Richard Williams, born in Moonta, South Australia on August 3, 1890, was an Australian military officer and founder of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). He held both Australian citizenship and had a career as an aircraft pilot. Besides his military accomplishments, Williams was also a writer.
Williams passed away in Melbourne on February 7, 1980, leaving behind a lasting legacy within the RAAF, and Australian military history.
