He worked as a software engineer upon graduation and then segued into entrepreneurship.
In 2001, Khasanshin founded Altoros Systems, an IT services company, and is still a board member there. He went on to found Apatar, an open source data integration software application.He started making notable angel investments in 2008 in companies such as Webinar.ru, Printio.ru, Foodik.ru, and KeenPrint.com.
Khasanshin became a venture partner at Runa Capital in 2011 and became a founding member of several decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) including Protofire DAO and Atomica DAO in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
Khasanshin has contributed to the technology industry using avenues other than business including being a representative in the Cloud Foundry Foundation and founding the Silicon Valley NewSQL User Group.
