Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) is becoming ubiquitous in decision-making processes. In signals intelligence (SIGINT), AI based classifiers are used to identify and characterize signals. As AI methods have become more prevalent, so have the risks due to the growth of Adversarial Attacks (AAs). Therefore, R-DEX Systems proposes Blue Jay, an innovative processing suite for the validation and strengthening of AI-based signal classifiers. Blue Jay will increase robustness against AA, thereby increasing confidence in signal identification. In addition, Blue Jay will implement real-time algorithms to identify possible adversarial data in real time. In Phase I, R-DEX will work with its strategic partner to demonstrate Blue Jay on both open and proprietary deep signal classifiers using both open and proprietary data. At the end of Phase I, R-DEX will demonstrate the feasibility of Blue Jay for strengthening AI networks against AA and its ability to identify AA inputs, clearly indicating that continued design and development of Blue Jay will result in a mature Phase II product. In Phase II, R-DEX will work with strategic partners and the sponsor to produce TRL 6 prototype solutions and mature technology transition and commercial plans for DOD and commercial markets.
