Another former estate in Poltava region, which has not survived to this day. However, you have the opportunity to walk through the park and look at the Kochubeyev oaks - old trees that have survived from the oak that surrounded the house. It is unknown who planted them. The territory of the park is extremely beautiful, especially in the summer. Mykola Gogol loved these places very much and visited the Kochubey estate.

Unfortunately, the building has not survived, but the last four oaks, 600-800 years old, have survived. The diameter of the trunks is 1.5-1.8 m, the height is 20-22 m.

If you have already arrived in Dykanka, be sure to look at the Arc de Triomphe. This is one of the monuments of the ensemble of the Kochubey estate.

Sorochinskiy Fair

During World War II, the museum had a collection of 30,000 works, most of which were destroyed during the German occupation. Among them are works by Giovanni Tiepolo, Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, Peter Paul Rubens, Adrian van Ostade, as well as works by Ukrainian painters and masters of the Russian school of the 17th-20th centuries. Only 4,000 works have survived, supplemented by modern canvases.

Mount Piviha

One of these mountains - Pivikha - is considered the highest point of the Left-Bank Ukraine. It is located at an altitude of 168-169 meters above sea level and from afar resembles either the Odessa Sanzheyka, or the French Riviera (with a stretch). The mountain was formed during the Ice Age. Here, archaeologists find the remains of mammoths, rhinos, reindeer, as well as corals and mollusks. After the construction of the Kremenchug reservoir, the mountain sinks 7 meters annually - this is another reason to go there in the summer, while the borders are closed.

The wide Vorskla with seagulls, pink sunsets and wild islands, on which (except for fishermen and careful tourists on boats) no human has set foot.

The most interesting is located in the very south of the Poltava region, where this same Vorskla merges with the reservoir, and from there flows into the Dnieper. And the south is really felt here: it is always a few degrees warmer than in Kiev, and coastal resorts create the illusion of a beach holiday.

Google maps suggest that the most impressive places are the Luchkovsky and Olkhovatsky landscape reserves. Personal experience says that there are mountains here. (Yes, yes, mountains. High sandy mountains.)
