Northstar Ventures is a venture capital investment firm which specializes in seed, early-stage, later-stage and growth capital investments. The firm prefers to invest in companies based in Northern England operating in the telecommunications, entertainment services, music services, music publishing, home entertainment software, digital, manufacturing, healthcare, biotechnology, energy and environment sectors. It was founded in 2004, headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Northstar Ventures looks for strong teams with great ideas - ideas that could drive high growth, scalable businesses. Northstar makes and manage investments into a wide range of ventures, and its investment managers have a wealth of experience supporting new and growing businesses.

Northstar was a launch partner to Accelerated Digital Ventures, a £150m UK-wide venture platform backing digital technology businesses. Aside from these funds, Northstar Ventures also manages the North East Social Investment Fund, investing in social enterprises working across the North East.

They exited their investments in Pogo.com, Eco Plastics, Graphicly, Receptive, WhatUsersDo, Kykloud, Cogenta Systems, ReInnervate, Washbox and Applied Graphene Materials.
