Nikolai Lobachevsky (1792-1856) was a mathematician, professor, and rector with Russian citizenship. Born in Nizhny Novgorod, Lobachevsky later completed his education at Kazan (Volga region) Federal University. In addition to his primary field, mathematics, he was also involved in other fields such as physics, astronomy, and academia.
Lobachevsky's doctoral advisor was Johann Christian Martin Bartels, and he advised doctoral student Nikolai Brashman. He made notable contributions to several academic topics, including hyperbolic geometry and Graeffe's method. Nikolai Lobachevsky passed away in Kazan on February 12, 1856.
