My mhealth is a telemedicine company based in Bournemouth. It specialises in digital health apps for the management of longterm conditions such as diabetes, COPD and heart disease where patients use anticoagulation therapy.
The apps, myDiabetes, myHeart and myCOPD, help patients to manage their condition, adapt their lifestyle and manage their medication. Patients are told what exercise to take and when to take their medication and their condition can be monitored remotely.
Dr Simon Bourne is the Chief Executive.
It is supported by SBRI Healthcare on behalf of the NHS in 2013 and was awarded £1,059,107 for its COPD patient self-management, and patient management system. It was one of the 8 projects evaluated by PA Consulting Group in a report on the SBRI which estimated that it had generated substantial savings for the NHS by improved self care and reduced use of services.
It formed a partnership with LumiraDx Care Solutions in January 2018.
Jane Stokes, a physiotherapist, worked for North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group which used the government’s Innovation and Technology Tariff to pay for 20% of the local population with moderate to severe COPD to use the company's app. She is now working for the company. In April 2018 the COPD app was in use in 55 CCGs. The COPD app permits patients to assess their symptoms and adjust their medication and exercise programme. It communicates directly with the GP and the hospital consultant and automatically orders medication. In November 2016 it was in use by 1,700 patients in 22 different clinical commissioning groups.Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group gave the company a contract to supply myDiabetes, myHeart and myCOPD to at least 1000 patients in October 2017.
