Meatless was founded in 2005 in the Netherlands. In 2005, the founders of meatless owned a meat processing company and decided to build their own plant-based ingredient production line within their meat processing factory capable of producing 1,500 tonnes of plant-based Meatless products per year. The meat processing portion of the company was sold in 2007, and Meatless began to focus solely on producing plant-based products.
Meatless ingredients are plant-based and are made to be used in the creation of plant-based meat, fish, and vegetarian products. Meatless products can be used to reduce fat, improve juiciness or succulence, replace animal products, lower cholesterol, and reduce cost price of products made by food companies.
