Margarita Gerasimovich was born in Minsk on March 9, 1990
When Rita was 7 years old, her parents sent her to a music school in piano. Rita studied vocals by joining the choir.
At the age of 10, Rita wrote her first song of her own, which she performed at a school concert.
In 2004, she created her first punk band, for which she wrote music and lyrics and at the same time began to sell her first songs.
After school, Rita entered the Forte vocal studio in Minsk. At the same time, she became interested in graffiti and learned to draw. Then graffiti artists from Portugal visited Minsk, they saw the singer's drawings and described them as “dakotat”, which translates as “versatility”. So the pseudonym Dakota appeared.
