The company is making high resolution holographic technology capable of projecting 3 dimensional images for the entertainment industry

Funding

Seed

On January 25, 2018 Light Field Lab completed their seed funding round with $7 million in funding from Khosla Ventures, Sherpa Capital, and R7 Partners. The company plan on using their seed funding to build a prototype of their light-field display system that the company claims will make holographic objects appear as if they are floating in space without the need for accessories or head-mounted gear. 

Series A

On August 12, 2019 Light Field Lab completed their series A funding round with $28 million in funding from Bosch Venture Capital (lead investor), Taiwania Capital (lead investor), Samsung, Verizon Ventures, Comcast, Liberty Global Ventures, NTT Docomo Ventures, Hella Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Alumni Ventures Group, R7 Partners, and Acme Capital. The company plans on using the funding to develop methods of scaling their holographic display technology from a prototype to finished product. The vice president of Liberty Global Ventures, Ankur Prakash, made the following statement regarding his firms participation in the series A round: 

Light Field Lab’s holographic displays are the most exciting new technology we have seen in the entertainment space to date. We are thrilled to meaningfully participate in their Series A and are well-positioned to help them align with the industry’s top content creators and accelerate holographic media distribution on next-generation networks.
