Kunio Yanagita (Japanese: やなぎた くにお) was born on July 31, 1875, in Fukusaki, Hyōgo, Japan. He was a Japanese anthropologist, writer, Esperantist, poet, linguist, agriculturist, and lexicographer. Yanagita is known for his works 'Kagyu' and 'Center versus periphery'. He passed away on August 8, 1962, in Tokyo.
