At the initiative of the employees of the Kramatorsk Metallurgical Society plant in 1912, the Kharkiv governor allowed the Kramatorsk Sports Society to be established. The purpose of the Society was to develop sports in the factory village and, including, the football team. Chairman of the CSR Karl Wurfel initiated the establishment of the Donbass Football League in 1913. The CSR team was considered by experts as the most promising in the Donbass. She was also predicted to win the First Cup of the Donbass Football League, which started on April 28 (May 11), 1913. This meeting can be called the first official match in the history of Donbass.
Before and after 1917, the KMO plant (after the revolution, the KGMZ plant) was located in the village. Kramatorsk was a city-forming enterprise and was the only factory that could support a football team.
