According to CEO and founder Kong Pham, the company’s stated goal is to 'employ entertainment and video production techniques in order to make online courses more engaging'. 


Jumpcut specializes in creating online courses about entrepreneurship. Their main course is called Viral Academy and it focuses on social media growth marketing. It is taught by various Youtube content creators like Ownage Pranks, Simple Pickup, Just Kidding Films, Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, and David So. 

Their second course, 'Automated Income Machine', teaches how to create and sell digital products through the use of email automation and sales funnels.

Their third course, 'Art of the Startup', is taught by Y Combinator partner and Twitch co-founder, Justin Kan.

Students are taught how to start their own startup company directly from Justin’s 10+ years in the startup market. Lessons range from how to create a startup idea, to building a product from scratch, to finding investor funding. Art of the Startup includes interviews with 39 other founders and venture capitalists from companies like Teespring, Weebly, and Maveron.


Seed Round

Jumpcut was among the 48 startup companies that presented at Y Combinator S16 Demo Day.

In Fall 2016, Jumpcut received $1.75M in seed funding from Y Combinator.

Jumpcut also received seed funding from the following investors: Outbound Ventures , Maveron (Lead Investor) , ZhenFund - Seed Round , Argonautic Ventures , Liquid 2 Ventures , Wei Guo , Chris M. Williams , Struck Capital and Zillionize Angel .

Jumpcut launched their third course called Art of the Startup, which is taught by Y-Combinator partner and Twitch co-founder, Justin Kan. It features interviews of founders of several startup companies like Teespring, Patreon, and Weebly, as well as some venture capitalists.

First Jumpcut Meetup

Jumpcut hosted its first official meetup in Santa Monica, California. It was attended by over 50 Jumpcut students as well as Viral Academy instructors, Aryia Emrani (SimpleSexyStupid) and Vitaly Zdorovetskiy (VitalyzdTv). Kong and Jesse talked about various viral marketing strategies.
