Jianxiong Xiao is the founder and CEO of AutoX. He previously worked as an assistant professor at Princeton University's Department of Computer Science and was the Founding Director of the Computer Vision and Robotics Lab before leaving to establish AutoX in 2016. While teaching at Princeton University, his student called him Professor X as his nickname because of their difficulty in pronouncing his name. He has a bachelor's and a master's degree in computer science from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology which he completed in 2007 and 2009 respectively. He graduated with a Ph.D. in computer science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2013 .
Xiao was originally from Chaozhou, Guangdong, China. He has published more than 70 research articles and conference proceedings, with his latest work published in 2016. He has an h-index of 37, and his work has been cited for more than 14,000 times. He was one of MIT Technology Review's '35 Innovators Under 35' and received Google Research Awards in 2014 and 2015.
