Irish Strategic Investment Fund is Dublin based venture capital fund mandated for investment in companies that help support economic activity and employment in Ireland. The fund is a sovereign development fund and is controlled by the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), the agency that manages the assets and liabilities of the Government of Ireland.
As of 2019, the management of the fund pursues five priority themes:
- Regional development
- Housing
- Indigenous businesses
- Climate change
- Sectors adversely affected by Brexit.
The Fund is also used to enhance Ireland’s global data, energy and physical connectivity with its Connectivity Fund sub-portfolio.
