Icebreaker is a fashion retail and wholesale firm in Auckland that focuses on the production of natural performance apparel. The company makes clothing from natural merino wool for outdoors and regular lifestyle activities. Founded 1994 in Auckland, New Zealand by Jeremy Moon, Icebreaker has raised one round. This was a private equity round raised on November 1, 2015. The company is funded by Pencarrow Private Equity. Pencarrow is New Zealand’s longest established private equity manager. Icebreaker was acquired by VF, a US company that offers a diverse portfolio of iconic outdoor and activity-based lifestyle and work-wear brands.
